Wondering if your Long Island roof is due for repair, replacement, or has plenty of life left? A free roof inspection from Perfect Pitch Roofing gives you an honest, photo-documented assessment — no obligation, no high-pressure sales. We’ve inspected roofs across Suffolk County for over a decade and we’ll tell you straight what your roof actually needs.

When to Schedule a Roof Inspection

  • ✓
After a major storm or wind event
South-shore nor’easters, hail, and tropical-storm remnants leave damage that’s often invisible from the ground. An inspection catches it before the next rain.
  • ✓
Considering selling within the next year
A documented roof condition report is one of the strongest pieces of evidence to share with buyers and their inspectors.
  • ✓
    Visible signs of trouble
Ceiling stain, missing or curled shingles, granule piles in your gutters, sagging deck — any of these are worth a closer look.
  • ✓
Buying a home and want a roof-specific assessment
Standard home inspections give a rough overview; we give you the same depth we’d give a paying customer planning a replacement.
  • ✓
Roof is older and you want to plan ahead
If your shingles are getting toward end-of-life, knowing the actual condition lets you plan replacement on your schedule — not after a leak.

Our Roof Inspection Process

  1. 1
    Call to Schedule
Call (631) 737-3328 and we’ll book a time that works for you. No upfront commitment — the visit is free.
  2. 2
    On-Site Walk-Through
We start at ground level, walking your property and noting anything visible from below. Then we climb up where safe to inspect the roof itself.
  3. 3
    Exterior Photo Documentation
Every plane, valley, ridge, and penetration gets photographed. You have a record regardless of what comes next.
  4. 4
    Attic Check When Accessible
If we can get into your attic, we check ventilation, insulation moisture, and any visible underside damage. Often more diagnostic than what’s visible from above.
  5. 5
    On-the-Ground Discussion
Before we leave, we walk through what we found with photos. Plain English — no jargon, no pressure tactics.
  6. 6
    Written Assessment
You get a written report covering shingle condition, flashing, ventilation, gutters, and any recommended next steps. Keep it with your home records.

What We Look For During an Inspection

Shingle Condition

Granule loss, curling tabs, cracking, lifted edges, exposed nails. We document the condition of every roof plane.

Flashing & Penetrations

Chimney flashing, step-flashing at sidewalls, pipe vent boots, skylight curbs, valley underlayment — these fail before the shingles do.

Deck & Structure

Soft spots underfoot, sagging ridge or rafters, signs of attic condensation. The structure under the shingles matters more than the surface.

Gutters & Drainage

Slope, attachment to fascia, clogs, downspout function. Clogged gutters back water onto the roof — a frequent root cause of failure.

Serving Suffolk County Homeowners

We serve homeowners across the Town of Babylon, Huntington, Smithtown and Islip — north shore to south shore.

Free Roof Inspection FAQ

How long does a roof inspection take?

Most residential inspections run 60–90 minutes — including the ground walk, the climb up, exterior documentation, and a brief attic check when accessible.

Do I need to be home?

Helpful but not required. If you can’t be there, we’ll text or call when we arrive and walk you through the findings by phone before sending the written report.

Is the inspection really free?

Yes. No charge, no obligation. Some calls turn into a repair or replacement project later — and even when they don’t, we’ve been the people who gave you an honest assessment when you needed one.

What’s in the written report?

Shingle condition by roof plane, flashing and penetration status, ventilation assessment, gutter condition, and any recommended next steps. Includes photos.

What if you find something serious?

We’ll show you with photos, explain what’s failing, and provide a written estimate for the recommended fix. No pressure to decide on the spot. The free inspection isn’t conditional on hiring us.
