Roof Replacement FAQ

How long does a roof replacement take?

Most Long Island Capes, ranches and splits (20–30 squares) take 1–2 days. Larger waterfront homes, multi-dormer colonials, or homes with deck rot can run 3–5 days. We give you an honest schedule in the written estimate.

Do I need a permit for a roof replacement?

Almost always — yes. Town of Babylon, Huntington, Smithtown and Islip all require a building permit for full residential re-roofs. We pull it on your behalf as part of the project.

What warranty do you provide?

Limited lifetime warranty on materials and labor, backed by GAF Master Elite credentials. On qualifying systems, we can extend that to a GAF Golden Pledge warranty covering both materials and workmanship for the life of the home.

Can you replace just one side of the roof?

Sometimes, when only one slope is damaged and the rest has 10+ years of life. But matching shingle batch, weathering and warranty coverage gets complicated — we walk you through the trade-offs before recommending it.

When’s the best time of year for replacement?

May through October is ideal — warm enough for proper shingle seal and dry enough to avoid weather delays. We do install in shoulder seasons too, with weather-aware scheduling.
